June 17 (6/17) in Godsfield -- Ep[hesians 6:17

Ephesians 6:17 -- Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Every batter, quarterback, hockey goalie, motorcyclist, fencer, construction worker, soldier, and miner knows the value of a helmet.
Every child of God knows the value of salvation. It protects, defends, deflects and absorbs whatever the devil throws.
Can't think of a better illustration for describing salvation. Our salvation will keep us in the protection of God.
And the Word of God is the weapon we have. The Sword is not just a defensive tool, but the opportunity to attack, pre-emptively, to fight back, to have as a deterrent.
The Word of God. SWord of God. Don't keep it in the sheaf.
Helmet? Check. Shield? Check. Sword? Check.
Shoes? Check. Breastplate? Check. Belt? Check.
Salvation, faith, Word, Gospel, Righteousness, Truth.
Check.
