Parish House Rock -- Pastor Elvis
On being inspired by the King, to preach about the King of Kings
Enjoyed the Elvis movie a while back the way old people should -- three weeks after it opens, afternoon matinee cheap tick
et, six people in theater, third try on getting there.
I now like Elvis a lot more than I did, although Elvis probably doesn't care at this point, and I really like Tom Hanks as a fatty.
Anyway, it reminded me of the time -- 30 years ago -- I performed at a Mother-Daughter banquet in Doylestown, as Elvis -- someone even made me a white jumpsuit costume with red and gold bling. It was an older, fat Elvis costume, which I still have, but can't begin to fit in it.
I rewrote five songs, and this is one of them. The tune is Jailhouse rock, and several references are specific to the church I was at, but get your blue suede blues out, comb back what hair you still have, and sing to the Parish House Rock:
